Discover Carmino’S Pizza

Walking into Carmino’S Pizza at 4728 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109, United States feels like stepping into a neighborhood story that’s still being written. I first stopped by after a late soccer game with friends, tired and starving, and the smell of baking dough and simmering tomato sauce basically pulled us through the door. That visit turned into a habit, and over the past year I’ve probably worked my way through half the menu.

One thing I keep hearing in reviews is how consistent the food is, and that lines up with my own experience. Whether it’s a quiet Tuesday or a packed Friday night, the pepperoni pie always comes out with a crispy edge, stretchy mozzarella, and sauce that balances sweet and tangy. According to food science research from Cornell University, balance between acidity and sweetness is one of the main factors that keeps customers coming back to a pizza place, and this spot nails that balance almost every time.

I once asked the owner about their dough, and he explained their fermentation process in simple terms. They mix the dough in the morning, let it rest in temperature-controlled bins, then cold-ferment it overnight. That slow rise is what gives the crust its airy bite and light chew. The American Institute of Baking often points out that cold fermentation improves flavor development and digestibility, and tasting their crust makes that idea very real.

The menu isn’t huge, but it’s focused. You’ve got classic cheese, loaded meat lovers, veggie options, strombolis, and wings that don’t feel like an afterthought. My personal favorite is what regulars jokingly call the house special, stacked with sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. A couple of months ago I brought my cousin from out of town, and he still texts me about the garlic knots-crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, with real minced garlic instead of powder.

From a service standpoint, they’re fast without being rushed. On my last visit I timed it out of curiosity, and our large pie came to the table in just under 15 minutes. The National Restaurant Association reports that speed of service is one of the top three factors influencing diner satisfaction in casual restaurants, so it’s no surprise their ratings stay high across local review sites.

Location matters too. Sitting right on Pearl Road, it’s easy to swing by after school or work, and parking is simple, which is something people often mention in their comments. I’ve seen families, delivery drivers, high school teams, and even a couple of police officers grabbing slices during shift changes, which says a lot about trust in the place.

Of course, no restaurant is perfect. Sometimes during peak hours the phone lines get busy, and on one especially crazy Friday our online order was delayed by about ten minutes. To their credit, the manager apologized and threw in a free two-liter without us asking. That kind of response builds loyalty, and it’s the reason I keep recommending it whenever someone asks where to eat in Cleveland’s west side.

What really stands out is how grounded the whole operation feels. There’s no gimmick, no attempt to be trendy. Just solid recipes, decent prices, and staff who remember your face. When you scroll through local food blogs or community Facebook groups, the comments echo the same thing: reliable pizza, friendly vibe, and a menu that hits all the comfort-food notes.

So whether you’re reading reviews before ordering, searching for a dependable dinner spot, or just craving a slice that tastes like it was made by people who care, this diner-style pizzeria on Pearl Road keeps proving it deserves its reputation.

  • It was a decent pizza! Just got a large pepperoni pizza. I never been to before. I wish when I called and ordered a large I would of been told it's like a medium everywhere else. They did have larger sizes available. Funny story I didn't know I ordered from him. Was shopping at Ollie's on Broadview and was going to try casamel. And when In Ollie's I googled pizza shops near me. And Carmino was at the top of the search. I didn't know the exact name at the time to Casamel. So I just called and ordered didn't look at menu. So it was a surprise going to Casamel finding out I didn't have a order so I was about 17mins late getting to Carmino so maybe the pizza is way better fresher!. So I'll try again soon! Hope you got a good laugh!

  • I absolutely love coming here for pizza! The pizzas themselves are always amazing, the prices are great, and they have a super wide variety of menu items. One of my favorite things is their sugar dough, pretty cheap, and absolutely delicious.

  • Has been my all time favorite pizza place since I was a teenager! Even working at a different pizza shop myself for 5 years in my time, I'd still always order from here, rather than eat the pizza at my old shop! Food is 100% every time, as-well as the service! I love love love their delivery drivers! The sweetest drivers I've ever encountered! I have 2 big dogs that love to bark cause they love new people, and a usually sleeping baby when I order, and they are always so considerate of that, the dogs never bark, and the baby stays asleep when delivered !

  • My friend said this was the best place for pizza and she was not wrong. Love the thick crust, good flavor, and the prices! I will order here over Domino's any day. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! In the photos, the sausage veggie one is a large and the pepperoni one was a jumbo.

  • Mac and cheese pizza, Taco pizza!!!! I literally as of today 1-1-24 still drive across the city to go and get the mac and cheese pizza. Toss some bacon bits on it, side of sour cream. better get ready to call off work the next day! BEST pie in cleveland… its just too good. Nice sized wings, really good crust on the pizzas, friendly attentive staff, truly a hidden gem… sometimes they get busy so be patient!! its worth the wait!! I drive to here from Euclid! I meant to leave a review with a picture of the full pizza but i couldnt stop myself from demolishing it halfway. i definitely went into a food coma. Love this place.

  • This place is amazing! Everything from the delicious food with flavors that melt in your mouth to the absolutely amazing service! Called a couple days ago to order a bacon chicken and ranch pizza (which was amazing if I may add), and then went to pick it up when ready. Once I got there, I grabbed the pizza, then hopped in the car and headed home. Only at the house did I realize they had given me the wrong order: an entirely vegetarian pizza (quite a contrast to the very meaty pizza I had). I called them, and they told me to come back to swap the pizzas. When I got there, they apologized for the inconvenience, and even told me I could keep the vegetarian pizza, which was great due to me having a vegetarian family member at the house. I was going to make this review on how great the pizzas tasted, but realized that how amazing the pizzas were was overshadowed by how amazing the service was.
